Westminster Village Donates Proceeds to Meals on Wheels of Greater Lafayette Event
Westminster Village Life Plan Community in West Lafayette held an Italian dinner drive-thru event on Friday, February 12th. The proceeds, totaling $3,200, were donated to Meals on Wheels of Greater Lafayette.
“It was such a joy to see so many come through the Village Friday evening. We saw old friends, new faces and many cars with bouquets of flowers for date night! I am continually humbled by our team, residents and the surrounding community when asked to come together for a cause. Thank you to all who participated in helping us fight senior hunger. And thank you to Chef Chad and Westminster’s culinary team for an amazing meal,” stated Candace Watson-Swick, Director of Marketing and Sales for Westminster Village.
Nearly 200 meals were served on Friday evening over the course of the 2-hour event. The menu, prepared by Chef Chad of Westminster, included Four Cheese Chicken Pasta, Garlic Breadsticks, Caesar Salad, and White & Milk Chocolate Mousse Hearts for dessert.
“Meals on Wheels Greater Lafayette would like to extend our sincere appreciation for the staff at Westminster Village and the community members who took part in the Valentine’s Dinner Drive-Thru event last Friday,” stated Laurie Earnst, Executive Director of the Tippecanoe County Senior Center. “The staff braved the cold weather to serve a large number of drive-thru customers and donated proceeds to Meals on Wheels who provides meals to local seniors and other vulnerable consumers. This past year Meals on Wheels provided 51,896 meals to Tippecanoe County residents.”
