What are the entry fee options?

Westminster offers two entrance fee options:

  • The Traditional plan, which features the lowest entrance fee, offers a refund that decreases over a period of four years.
What exactly is Independent Living?

Independent living lets you continue living life as you choose, but without the worries of home maintenance and upkeep, transportation, planning and preparing meals and other daily concerns. Surrounded by others with similar life experiences, you can access an array of life-enhancing amenities and services that add vitality and quality leisure time to your days.

If I’m healthy and active, why would I move into independent living?

Actually, that’s the best time to move into a retirement community, when you can fully enjoy all the exceptional perks available to you. Free from daily worries with new peace of mind for the future, you can discover new talents, make new friends, travel easily, pursue new levels of wellness and in general, get more out of each day.

What types of residence are available?

Independent living residents at Westminster Village have their choice of an apartment with one or two bedrooms, a ranch-style home with two or three bedrooms, or a hybrid home with two bedrooms. Each comes in a variety of floor plans and some feature a gourmet-style kitchen with full-sized appliances and a washer and dryer. Other features include deluxe cabinetry, countertops, and other upgrades. (Hybrid homes also offer a patio or balcony, kitchen island, controlled entry and other special features.) You are invited to make yourself at home by furnishing or decorating your residence. Assisted living residents have the comfort of spacious one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments.

What amenities are available?

Some of the amenities include multiple dining venues including the main dining room, The Village Pub and The Village Café. You can also enjoy The Village Salon, The Live Well Fitness & Rehab Center, a library with computers and an outdoor patio, walking paths, banking and postal services, a woodworking shop, wellness center, convenience store and lots more.

May I bring my car?

Of course! Many of our residents continue to drive. Most of our single-family homes have two-car garages. Apartment building residents enjoy ample parking. Residents of The Terraces hybrid homes have access to a ground-level, enclosed and heated parking garage.

What is assisted living?

Assisted living offers individuals assistance with the activities of daily living-such as dressing, bathing, dining, medication management-while still offering every opportunity for maintaining independence. Residents are free to go about their day, knowing a helping hand is available if needed.

Who would benefit from assisted living?

Any person who would appreciate the peace of mind that comes from knowing assistance is available if needed, whether for daily activities, medication reminders or other daily needs. In addition, if a loved one no longer wishes to live alone, Assisted living offers security as well as companionship of good neighbors and a helpful staff.

Is financial assistance available to help cover the costs of assisted living or memory care?

If you are a Veteran or the widow of a Veteran, you may be eligible for a wide variety of benefits available to all U.S. military Veterans. These benefits can help cover the costs of both assisted living and memory care. The Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) provides supplemental income through the Veterans Pension and Survivors Pension Benefit Programs. Additionally, veterans and survivors who require daily care may also be eligible for additional monthly payments through VA Aid & Attendance. Veterans who are at least 65 years-old and who served during wartime (though not necessarily in actual combat), as well as their spouses or surviving spouses, may be eligible. For complete details, go to www.benefits.va.gov.

In addition, many long-term care insurance policies also help cover the costs of assisted living, but you will need to review your specific coverage to be sure. We can help – just bring a copy of your policy with you when you visit Westminster Village. Long-term care insurance is not required to be a resident.

What is memory care?

Memory care provides specialized programming for residents coping with memory loss, Alzheimer’s or other dementia-related disorders. Therapeutic activities and programs help maximize cognitive development, diminish anxiety, lessen confusion and increase peace of mind.
