Announcing Grand Opening of New Memory Care Community
The Westminster Village Life Plan Community in West Lafayette will hold a Grand Opening for their new Magnolia Court Memory Care Community on Wednesday, May 24th at 2:00 p.m. Incorporating the latest technology and treatment protocols, the new Magnolia Court Memory Care Community will provide those dealing with Alzheimer’s and other dementia-related conditions the very latest in personalized memory care.
Managed by Life Care Services, the nation’s third-largest provider of senior living services, Magnolia Court will utilize the LCS company’s signature program, Heartfelt Connections, to ensure residents receive the utmost in compassionate care. Awarded the Gold level in the program, all Westminster Village staff across the community have been trained in at least eight (8) hours of memory care training.
“The Heartfelt Connections program provides residents with the highest-level of personalized care,” said Magnolia Court Manager Kinsey Foster, ATR-P, QMC. “Using each resident’s life history, it allows us to create programs personalized to their interests. Which allows us to focus our therapy on enhancing their self-worth, self-esteem, dignity, and overall wellbeing.”
Music therapy, pet therapy, intergenerational programs, and art expressive therapies are other innovative features the Magnolia Court staff will initiate. Magnolia Court will also be the first memory care community in the area to introduce a Sensory Room. “Based on the Snoezelen room first created by two Dutch therapists,” said Foster. “It can be a great alternative to pharmaceutical interventions to address anxiety, depression, or frustration. The Sensory Room provides a heightened awareness of the surrounding environment for a pleasurable, failure- and stress-free experience residents can enjoy at their own pace.”
The Sensory Room and Magnolia Court’s other unique features will be on full display during the community’s Grand Opening and Open House Wednesday, May 24th at 2:00 p.m. Magnolia Court is located on the Westminster Village at 2741 N Salisbury Street in West Lafayette, just two miles from the Purdue University Campus.
