Westminster was pleased to learn that the Journal and Courier’s Readers’ Choice Awards for best retirement community went to Westminster Village!  A reception to receive the prestigious award was held on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at the Bob Rohrman Automotive Group site.  We thank everyone for their support and vote of confidence!

2011 marks the 35^th anniversary for Westminster Village retirement community, located just two blocks from downtown Lafayette and two miles from Purdue University. Westminster Village offers independent living and a full continuum of care including assisted living, Alzheimer’s/dementia care, skilled nursing and rehabilitative care (including the recent addition of convenient outpatient rehabilitation services) in the brand new on-site Health Center.

But what really sets Westminster Village apart is people—the residents, who have created a family atmosphere that feels friendly and relaxed, and the dedicated staff members, who deliver outstanding customer service and support one another in countless ways.

“At Westminster Village you’ll find friendly, helpful people who love serving you,” says Westminster Village Executive Director Vicki Gregory. “We consider ourselves one big family…a family that looks out for one another, supports one another and is proud of our community.  It’s why so many members of our staff have been here for years.  And why our residents are so satisfied.”

People helping people—this is the heart and soul of Westminster Village. A large number of Westminster Village residents volunteer both inside and outside the community.  “Our residents truly are givers,” says Gregory. “They are keenly interested in continued learning, sharing and making a difference.  They are proud of the tradition they have established.”

And while that tradition marks its 35^th anniversary this year, Westminster Village continues to look for new ways to raise the bar even higher in senior living.  New residences, new programs and a brand new Health Center are just some of the recent successes.  “As a  non-profit continuing care retirement community, we have one focus:  making our residents happy,” says Gregory.  “We’ve built a strong sense of community and offer a quality lifestyle, while keeping the true essence of home.  At Westminster Village, we’re very proud of our history, but even more excited about what’s yet to come.”
